As a whole, my experience at the iSchool has strengthened my theoretical knowledge and given me practical skills beyond measure. In the two very different libraries I work for now, I daily use the skills that I acquired through my coursework. Whether I work for a larger branch of a public library or a tiny branch of an academic library, I know I will be able to bring the passion, innovation and focus that studying at the University of Washington has instilled in me. Furthermore, I can only hope that I am someday able to reflect the inspirational traits that my supervisors and professors have exhibited to me.
Looking forward, I hope to slowly work up to roles with more responsibility and opportunities for leadership and support. One thing I look forward to with relish is continuing my education - constantly learning about new resources and technologies that will enhance libraries and enable them to better serve their communities. I am glad I am in a profession that will never ask me to stop learning and reaching for new knowledge. I eagerly await the changes and the challenges that are always coming in the world of libraries.
